Alfred James “Freddie” “Papa Freddie” Alameida, 75, of Honokaa died April 14 at home. Born in Ahualoa, he was a retired pipe layer for Willocks Construction, journeyman steelworker for Hawaiian Dredging, Army National Guard veteran, former Hawaii champion bull rider and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Hawaii Saddle Club, Hawaii Rodeo Association and Hamakua Senior Softball League. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Our Lady or Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by sons, David (Dorothy) Gabriel of Oregon, Bully (Karla) Gabriel of Kalopa, Donny (Noreen) Gabriel of Ainaloa and Derek (Sophia) Gabriel of Kukaiau; daughters, Deborah (Derrick Bihag) Gabriel of Pahoa, Cookie (Clarence) Vick of North Carolina and Donnalen Gabriel of Hilo; brothers, Joseph (Gay) Alameda of Kailua-Kona and Richard Perreira of Ahualoa; sisters, Lovina (Bob) Carvalho of Pahoa and Alice Obina of Ahualoa; sisters-in-law, Joyce Branco and Patricia Branco of Hilo; 24 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Dennis Leroy Keanuinui Ancheta, 47, of Kailua-Kona died March 30 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a guard for Metro Security and coconut leaf weaver. Celebration of life 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona. Casual attire. Survived by daughter, Dezsha-Lynn Liu of Waipahu, Oahu; mother, Eileen Canionero of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Derek (Shona) Ancheta of Holualoa, Dennis Kauwe of Honolulu and Dicky Canionero of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Lei (Allan) Bellin of Bradenton, Fla., and Maile (Kent) Lewi of Waimea; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The late Wilana Noelani de la Cruz is survived by, among others, son, Donn (Melanie) de la Cruz of Hilo. Melanie de la Cruz’s name wasn’t submitted for an obituary published Friday.
